This year for Halloween, I was actually invited out to party, so I figured I might as well make a go of it and not be a big ol’ halloWEENIE. Anyhow, I dressed up as Pierrot. Originally, I was going to dress up as one of my favorite literary heroines, Hester Prynne, but while out looking for an appropriate dress, I found this black and white collar instead. Soon enough, Hester was out and Pierrot was in, but I knew I wanted to wear all black, so I just pulled out a bunch of black stuff from my closet. And I don’t look good with hats, hence pulling up my hair into a bun. I bought some white pom poms from Joanne’s and whim wham bam, I had a costume. I’m also wearing black nylon leggings from INC, a sheer blouse given to me by Becky, velvet heels from The Value Center, and a poncho with puffy collar made by my good friend, Daniel. All in all, I only spent $6 for the entire costume. Really, it’s that easy, folks. And a special thanks goes out to my make-up team, Darren and Nicholas; because this bitch don’t know shit about make-up, yo. I have a very shaky hand which is why you will never see me wear more than eye liner and chapstick. I did, however, like the way I did my lipstick and want to do it like this all the time, but with a darker shade - maybe a black cherry color. Anywhoselbees, the following photo was part of my inspiration. I really liked the Erin Fetherston look from her Fall 09 collection and I wanted to look as chic as that, but I don’t think it worked out very well. Regardless, I liked my costume even though most people just thought I was a plain clown. It’s like, hello, doesn’t anyone know who Pierrot was?
