Doin’ it on the Cheap is a bi-weekly feature starring three girls in three different cities, showing you how to work with a budget and still look stylish. For our fourth installment, I chose a spring transition outfit.
Spring weather is constantly shifting; in the morning it will be cool, daytime will be warmer, and then it reverts back to cold by nightfall. This is why I think spring outfits are completely about LAYERING! One can always take off a jacket or add a scarf to accommodate the ever-changing weather.

I love to wear light jackets (it’s actually more of a men’s shirt, but it’s quite thick and warm) over dresses because it’s comfortable and casual, yet still very pretty and feminine. And for me, I always roll up my sleeves for some reason. I’ve been doing it for what seems like forever. I just feel more at ease and less-constricted when my sleeves are out of the way.

Both the jacket and multi-print dress are recent finds and I’m so in love with them. I’ve worn the shirt/jacket over other dresses and it goes with EVERYTHING. Plus, I’m down with anything that has pockets. This little baby carries around a bunch of stuff!

Outfit:
- Dress, jacket, belt: thrifted, The Value Center
- Brown studded boots: Office
Don’t forget to check out Amelia and Stina’s respective blogs for their interpretations. And for the next installment, us three gals will be focusing on animal prints! Yay.
